Judging Process

 

Submissions for ‘INFOSEC MAESTROS’ Awards must align with the category for which they are nominated and are judged based upon completeness and accuracy of the information provided. Nominations are also judged based on the overall influence, effectiveness and success of the nominees’ project, initiative or improvement. Nominators may be contacted by any member of panel of juries. The panel of judges selected, each represent a different segment of industry and bring to the forum their extensive knowledge and experience. The jury’s judgment will be considered as final one.
Judgment in these criteria will be based on:

 

    • Industry type
    • Organization size
    • Factors driving organization’s information security spending
    • Evaluation of information security spending
    • Security measures deployed or to be deployed
    • Size and complexity of projects undertaken/delivered
    • Security assurance

Q. Why ‘INFOSEC MAESTROS’ Awards?

The ‘INFOSEC MAESTROS’ Awards will felicitate organizations (and the people within them) that are using information security technology in innovative ways to secure their business and mission critical information in the most effective manner and deliver business value, by creating competitive advantage, optimizing business processes, enabling growth or improving relationships with customers.

Information security is vital for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of computer systems, resources, and data; it is important for business continuity, for profits, for the economy and for national security. Yet, though every year we load accolades on business heads for their successes and other side, the country has stayed silent to the monumental contribution of the security professionals.

The ‘INFOSEC MAESTROS’ Awards is an attempt to recognize the contributions that these extremely talented executives make that has such a huge impact on our businesses. This is the most prolific information security honour that is being conceptualized, and organized by ‘INFOSECURITYLIVE.COM’

Q. What is the Impact of ‘INFOSEC MAESTROS’ Awards?

This award aims to bring to the centre stage the contribution security officers make in the shaping and securing the integrity of our businesses. We hope that this award will inspire the young talented information security professionals and researchers to come forward with path breaking technological innovations to keep organizations ahead and secure.

Q. What is the Judging Process?

The 150 INFOSEC MAESTROS will be chosen by the expert panel of 5 jury members and will be based on the information submitted by the nominees vide online form submission or through email. The panel of judges selected, each represent a different segments of industry and bring to the forum their extensive knowledge and experience. The jury’s judgment will be considered as final one. Entrants are encouraged to include any information about their projects or initiatives that they would like the judges to consider in their answers to the questions on the application. Please note that finalists of this award are not ranked. For more details, please refer Judging Process section.

Q. Tell us something about methodology used for selecting ‘INFOSEC MAESTROS’?

A brief on the methodology adopted for selection process (only to present a neutral picture of the initiative):

Step 1: Open nominations – publicize via personal contact, print ads, online ads, links on websites.

Step 2: Receive nomination entries from individuals and organisations. Parameters of selection include:

~ Industry type
~ Organisation size
~ Factors driving organization’s information security spending
~ Evaluation of information security spending
~ Security measures deployed or to be deployed
~ Size and complexity of projects undertaken/delivered
~ Security assurance

Step 3: Nominations to be short listed based on predefined minimum criteria.

Step 4: Jury panel consisting of pioneers and stalwarts of the security industry to qualify finalists.

Step 5: INFOSEC MAESTROS selected. Special Achievement awards, if any to be decided by Jury panel

Q. How will the information provided for nominations are used?

The information you provide in your nomination forms will be primarily used by ‘INFOSECURITY LIVE’ for judging the awards. Additionally, the information provided may be used by our editorial team for editorial purpose and/or in other publicity materials related to the ‘INFOSEC MAESTROS’ Awards. If there is any information that you do not want publicized, please mention the same in the form submitted with an “ * ” marked against it.

Q. What is the deadline for nomination submission?

The deadline for submitting an application for the 2016 edition of ‘INFOSEC MAESTROS’ Awards is January 15, 2016 (Extended Deadline). . You can download the application form here or you can send us a request. Winners will be notified by e-mail and in a letter by the 2nd Week of February 2016.
